Roots do not grow toward the world. They grow inward.

Within them are preserved the traces of everything that has shaped us: the homes we remember, the voices that continue to guide us, and the values we carry forward. Invisible to the eye, roots are the foundation from which we draw the strength to evolve while remaining true to ourselves.

That is why roots have long symbolized belonging, continuity, and the quiet bond with those who came before us. Once, beside the threshold of a home and in the soft light falling across the family table, women arranged patterns like the rings of a tree. Within them they preserved the measure of endurance: how to love, how to protect, and how to persevere.

A Contemporary Interpretation of Roots

„Threads of Roots” speaks of what endures.

At the heart of the composition, a man and a woman become a single woven form. Their union creates a space where roots grow, branch outward, and continue their journey.

The composition breathes through the rhythm of rising and descending forms, echoing layers of time unfolding one upon another. From them emerge stylized roots shaped as leaves, blossoms, and branches – a reminder that life continually finds new paths.

The motif of the sofra, the traditional family table, appears as a quiet center of gathering – a place where bread, conversation, and time are shared.

The sofra is a circle of togetherness.

People gather around it not only to eat, but to belong – to family, to the present moment, and to the shared rhythm of life. Upon its surface, silence meets conversation, work meets rest, and the everyday meets the sacred.

As a symbol, the sofra preserves the memory of togetherness that endures long after people have gone their separate ways.

Pairs of birds are woven into the rhythm of the pattern as symbols of a bond that transcends a single lifetime, continuing its journey through generations.

Deep burgundy carries the richness of the earth and the weight of memory. Soft blue opens a space of air, distance, and quiet reflection.

Roots are not only what keep us grounded – they are also what connect us.

They live within the choices we make, in the way we care for one another, and in everything we leave behind. They grow from within, yet belong to many. They remain, even when we forget to name them.

All illustrations on UOKO scarves are hand-drawn and then double-sided printed on the finest silk with hand – rolled edges.

Each symbol is thoughtfully designed, and the metaphorical illustrations tell stories within us and around us, drawn from the experiences of everyday life.

For women’s scarves, we use the highest – quality Mulberry silk, 16 or 18 momme, renowned for its softness and luxurious sheen.

This scarf is crafted from silk satin, known for its dense satin weave with a higher thread count. It is highly glossy, smooth, and reflective, while the reverse side is matte. To the touch, it is luxuriously soft. It drapes gracefully over the body, creating a fluid and glamorous effect. The advantage of satin silk is its luxurious feel, elegant appearance, softer and more sensual texture, and the possibility to wear either the shiny or matte side.

All our scarves come with a silk printing certification, ensuring the print is skin-safe and compliant with ISO standards.

The colour palette of this scarf has been thoughtfully developed according to the principles of seasonal colour analysis for women whose colour profile belongs to the Summer and Winter seasons. Cool shades of light blue, white, and soft grey, enriched with deep burgundy, create a harmonious composition that radiates elegance, clarity, and timeless beauty.

Why Summer?

The Summer palette is defined by cool, soft, and airy shades such as icy blue, light grey, and milky white, which dominate this design. These colours are particularly flattering for women with cool undertones, blue, grey, or green eyes, and a softer contrast between skin, hair, and eyes.

The energy of Summer evokes serenity, grace, and understated elegance. Its gentle tones create a sense of lightness and harmony while enhancing the complexion’s natural freshness.

Why Winter?

The Winter palette is characterized by clean, cool, and high-contrast colours such as deep burgundy and rich dark accents, which give this scarf its strength and distinctive character. These shades are especially suited to women with cool undertones and a more pronounced contrast between their complexion, hair, and eyes.

The energy of Winter reflects clarity, confidence, and sophistication. The interplay between light and dark tones creates visual impact while maintaining an air of refined elegance.

For this reason, Threads of Roots moves gracefully between Summer and Winter, combining the softness of cool, luminous shades with the depth of bold contrasting accents. The result is a harmonious colour palette that feels calm, powerful, and timeless
